Greetings!
We are celebrating this month because we have been a dedicated group of parents taking on the education funding crisis for a year now!
Although some of us have never met, you have played a meaningful and enduring role throughout the year. I have been told by key leaders that our letter campaign made a significant impact at the State Capitol, as each day passed and still no budget. Our rallies, car painting advertising sessions, community meetings, PTA meetings, and trips to many northern California school district board meetings to introduce our organization are just some of the highlights we are celebrating. This year has been a tremendous year of growth and collaboration. (continue)
We are a grassroots movement of parents, grandparents, guardians and concerned community members who are committed to protecting the future of California’s six million public school students.
We are NOT a political action committee and are not supported by any special interest group.
However, we ARE a group of voters who have become increasingly concerned with public officials who are balancing the state’s budget on the backs of our children. continue
California’s adopted budget will have a significant financial impact on all Californian school districts. For example the Elk Grove Unified School District based on the most current information will need to reduce its operating expenses by approximately $42 million by the 2010-2011 school year.
